Phu Quoc's southern archipelago is a constellation of more than 20 islands. Most visitors see only the same three or four. But for those willing to slip past the cable car traffic, an entire other Phu Quoc opens up — quiet, deserted, and improbably beautiful.
Here are ten of our favorite hidden anchorages, drawn from years of sailing these waters.
1. Bãi Thơm Cove — Tucked behind a jagged headland on the northeast coast, accessible only at high tide. Crystal water and zero footprints.
2. Hòn Móng Tay Lagoon — A natural swimming pool ringed by limestone. Snorkeling here means swimming alongside butterflyfish, parrotfish, and the occasional reef shark.
3. Hòn Gầm Ghì Reef — Phu Quoc's healthiest coral system. Visibility regularly exceeds 20 meters.
The remaining seven are reserved for our guests — local knowledge is part of what we offer. Book any private charter and we'll plan a route through three or four of these in a single day.
